Our Mission
EDU eXchange brings education and community to everyone who values consensual kink in a risk-aware environment.
We provide support, education, community outreach, and opportunities to gather and grow — through free monthly munches, affordable classes led by experienced presenters, and vendor fairs that champion the artisans and small businesses at the heart of our communities.
Founded in 2018, we believe knowledge should be within everyone’s reach. Our free events stay free because our community sustains them — and every paid event exists to keep it that way.
Education Develops Unity.

EDU eXchange

Sir Merv
Founder
Sir Merv is the founder of EDU eXchange and the Central Valley Vendor Fair, living by “free education for the community, by the community.”
A longtime leather community educator and organizer, he brings in presenters rather than standing at the front himself.
A published poet and artist, hypnotherapist, couples counselor, and aspiring toy maker of Indigenous heritage, he builds community institutions and verse forms with the same hand.

A dedicated bootblack, community volunteer, and historical preservationist, Allsins is deeply committed to the leather and kink community. A presenter for over a decade, they have contributed to community education, including behind-the-scenes work with EDU eXchange.
Allsins has volunteered at NWLC, KinkFest, SPLF, CLAW, SELF, and Folsom Street Events. They also serve as a historical leather restorationist for the Leather Quilt Project, helping preserve the community’s material history for future generations.

“I looked at the posts and thought ‘yeah, not my thing.’ But Merv has been so generous in answering all my questions and explaining things along the way, that I decided to grab a friend and go to show support. I’m glad I went and would highly recommend going, especially for those who think ‘that’s not my thing.’ … Don’t miss out. Well worth your time.”

“His explanations were clear, detailed, and easy to understand. What impressed me the most was his practical, hands-on teaching approach. Seeing the equipment demonstrated in real-life situations made the experience much more valuable… His knowledge, expertise, and passion for teaching were evident throughout the class.”

“I’m so glad I decided to attend! This was my first time attending a munch, and I’ll admit I was a little hesitant and nervous going in. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I’m genuinely happy I stepped outside my comfort zone… The experience was welcoming, informative, and absolutely worth overcoming my initial nervousness. If you’re new to the community or considering attending your first munch, I highly recommend giving EDU eXchange a chance!”

“I found EDU eXchange through an event posting on Plura and decided to check it out. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure if this group was a real thing and worried it might be too good to be true. But it absolutely was real, and it was wonderful!… I’m excited to come back and see what else this community has to offer. It’s safe to say I’ll definitely be back!”
